Peter Matthews is Managing Director of Global Reinsurance Consultants Ltd which has now been successfully trading since November 1999. Global Re's worldwide client base of over fifty is a testament to Peter's reputation that clients of the company remain so for the long term.
Peter has over 20 years experience in the Reinsurance Industry gained with both Lloyd's brokers and Reinsurance Consultancy firms. Primarily involved in the complex field of worldwide reinsurance debt recovery, Peter has to date collected millions of dollars for his clients, much of which was already reserved as 100% bad debt. Peter has successfully collected from more than 50 different countries.
Peter is a practicing member of the Insurance Institute of London (IIL) and a Chartered Insurer, having gained a number of distinctions in his ACII examinations. Global Re are also Founding Members of the Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Service Providers (AirSP) as well as members of the Association of Run-Off Companies (ARC).
Peter participates regularly at the following conferences: ARC Congress; Cavell Norwich; Monte Carlo Rendez Vous; Cologne Rendez Vous; East Asian Insurance Congress; AIRROC; African Insurance Organisation; GAIF: FAIR; SIRC and ICDC.
When not working Peter enjoys travel, golf, skiing,cooking, wine and spending time with his family.
Mike Hole has over 40 years experience in the London Insurance and Reinsurance Markets and brings a wealth of strong technical expertise to Global Re's team.
During his extensive career Mike has worked for various Lloyd's Brokers, Insurance and Reinsurance Companies and The Institute Of London Underwriters, where he started his Insurance career in 1964.
Mike has been involved in a number of U.K. and Overseas audits and inspections and provided valuable expertise in a high profile due diligence report Global Re was instructed to conduct in relation to a major run-off acquisition. More recently in his career Mike was Inwards Claims Manager at Scan Re Ins Co Ltd and towards the end of the Company's Scheme of Arrangement greatly assisted in the negotiation and finalisation of a number of problematic Creditor claim filings.
Mike joined Global Re as Senior Technical Manager and his depth of knowledge and technical ability has been invaluable in finalising many difficult reinsurance collections and commutations for the ultimate benefit of our many clients.
In his spare time Mike enjoys gardening, DIY and golf.

Mark joined Global Re in February 2005 as a graduate from studying a BSc (Hons). He has a strong business background from A-level studies including Law and Economics. Since starting at Global Re Mark has been involved in many large commutations with worldwide clients and has already attended conferences and meetings in many locations including London, USA, Singapore, Egypt and India.
Mark is highly motivated and possesses excellent communication skills which are invaluable in finalising complicated business relationships. His ability to work well as part of a disciplined and dedicated team is also an asset.
In his leisure time Mark enjoys Yacht Racing, Shooting and Renovating his latest House. Along with his wife Jo, he also sails for Team GB at the Monte Carlo Rendez Vous Regattas .
Karen Morgans

Karen joined Global Re in September 2006 as Office Manager. Karen worked for Deutsche Bank for 17 years in their Investment Trust Department working closely with the Chairmen of the Trusts. Interestingly, Karen's career started at the Home Office where she worked in the Secretarial Pool for the Home Secretary preparing the Queen's Speech, press releases and Question and Answers for the House of Commons.
Karen proved that she is very conscientious with her work and colleagues and is always willing to help when required and continues to streamline many of our processes.
In her spare time Karen enjoys swimming, cycling and going for long walks with her family and dog.
Jim acts as a Freelance Consultant to Global Re with regard to marketing and special projects as and when his in depth market knowledge and expertise come into play.
Jim has been instrumental in making introductions for Global Re to new markets and in providing innovative solutions on long outstanding reinsurance issues. Jim travels for Global Re on business on occasion and is an annual attendee at the Monte Carlo Rendez Vous. Jim has also been interviewed by the press in Monaco due to his length of service to the Reinsurance Community.
In his spare time Jim likes to cycle, play golf and builds replica 18th century plank on frame ship models.
Kirsti is a co-founder of Global Re. Prior to joining Global Re Kirsti gained extensive experience in the banking and factoring fields, which brings a strong financial background to our firm. Kirsti also co-ordinates PR and profile for the company.
Although Global Re was initially founded as Peter's vehicle to promote creative solutions to reinsurance problems, Kirsti had to rise to the challenges created in setting up a company and has seen it expand from a 'husband and wife team' working from home to an expanding firm now employing over 14 people.
Kirsti has traveled extensively on behalf of Global Re, attending many of the Insurance Rendez Vous with Peter, as well as meeting clients and reinsurers in different parts of the world.
Kirsti assists in organising the various profile raising events for the firm, such as informal Drinks Gatherings, dinners and other events.
In her spare time Kirsti enjoys going to the Gym, Interior Design, travel and has two delightful children.
Nada Khayer

Nada joined Global Re in August 2006 to meet the Company’s need for a strong local presence within the Middle East. Nada is fluent in Arabic, English and French and started her career working in the multi-national environment of the United Nations. Nada went on to gain an extensive knowledge of the Middle East Insurance and Reinsurance markets working within various departments of Reinsurance companies. During this time she was able to develop excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Nada has travelled extensively with both Global Re and her previous companies, the locations include Lebanon, Uganda, Ivory Coast, Oman, Zambia Tunisia and Morocco.
When not working, and besides fine arts, Nada likes to research and write Sociology as well as literature. She has had her articles published in several local and regional magazines.
Diane has gained extensive and varied experience in the Reinsurance Industry in over 20 years of working for Major London Market Reinsurance Brokers and Underwriters. This included over 10 years at Ace European Group, where Diane occupied a number of roles in both the Technical Ceded Claims Department as Team Leader and latterly as Manager of the team responsible for Reinsurance Credit Control
Diane’s knowledge of the Long Tail Claims affecting the London Market and the application of losses against various programs of reinsurance, together with her Ledger Management and Credit Control skills will prove an asset in achieving the results expected by our clients.
Since joining Global Re as a Client Technical Consultant Diane has contributed to the extension of our product range and the provision of further reinsurance services for the benefit of our client base.
Amir joined Global Re in February 2007, having started his insurance career in a small intermediary where his keen ability to learn saw him progress through the CII Insurance Foundation Certificate as well as a nomination for the Sheik Abdullah Young Achiever of the Year Award.
Now at Global Re, Amir is aspiring to incorporate this knowledge and learn the 'other side' of the insurance world. Amir has excellent communication skills which are very effective in handling delicate situations in order to obtain the best possible solution for all parties involved.
When out of the office Amir enjoys spending time with his friends and assisting his partner Michelle who is currently setting up her own business pet grooming .
Nathan joined Global Reinsurance Consultants in February 2007 as a Reinsurance Technical Assistant. Before joining Global Re, Nathan was previously department manager at retail company NEXT. After completing his A-Level computing course at college, Nathan joined Market Harborough Building Society as a Technical Support & Testing Assistant, where he had four enjoyable years. Nathan has now attended many meetings and conferences in and around London on behalf of Global Re, building up a rapport with clients, reinsurers and market participants in the Reinsurance and Run-Off arena.
Nathan and his partner Michelle have recently purchased a farm, so a lot of their spare time is taken with cutting the grass and looking after the animals. When he can squeeze it in, Nathan enjoys traveling to White Hart Lane to watch his beloved Tottenham Hotspur!
Guy has over 30 years experience in International Reinsurance. He started his career in 1975 with INA Reinsurance Company in Brussels, later Cigna Re SA/NV. In 1995 St. Paul Reinsurance Company Ltd took over the active portfolio of Cigna Re SA/NV and Guy became Manager of the Technical Accounting Department and later Head of Branch Operations in Brussels. In 2005 when St. Paul decided to close their Brussels office, Guy was responsible for managing all aspects of the closing down of the Brussels Branch office and its successful transfer to London. After the transfer Guy was asked by the UK management to work as Consultant in London to streamline the transfer of the European run-off portfolio.
During all these years Guy gained a wide experience in all the aspects of reinsurance going from management reporting to underwriting administration, policy registration, accounting of treaty and facultative marine and non-marine accounts, credit control for both active and run-off portfolios and commutations.
Guy joined Global Re in June 2008, based in Brussels where he represents our European Office managing local clients and concerns.
In his spare time Guy enjoys traveling, cycling and playing volleyball.
